Just As I Am

Have you ever said, “I am going just as I am?” I have several times, when I have just not felt up to it! For example, just the other night we had prayer meeting at our home and I just didn’t feel up to getting dressed again. So I didn’t! I was surprised and wished I had changed into something more appropriate. Especially when they had an anniversary party for us after prayer! Even though it was our 48th anniversary that day, I just never thought about a party! I guess it really pays to be ready.

In Matthew chapter 22, Jesus began speaking in a parable. He said, “ A certain King made a marriage supper for his son and he told his servants, “The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.” They went out and gathered together as many as were found both man, bad and good and the wedding was furnished with guests. Now when the king came in to see the guests he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment. He said unto him, “ Friend, how camest thou in not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to his servants, bind him hand and foot, and take him away and cast him into the river of darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, for many are called, but few are chosen.” It pays to be ready. not ‘just as I am!”

In order to be ready we must obey Acts 2:38, as we can’t be saved just as I am. We must come to Jesus, just as I am, and ask forgiveness of our sins and be baptized in Jesus’ name, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost; so that when He comes we all have our wedding garments on! I don’t want to be in that position when He comes for His people! In the meantime we must come “just as I am” as we cannot change ourselves It takes the Holy Spirit of God to change us and to make us clean!

Just as I am without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me. And that thou bidd’st me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come. I come! Just as I am and waiting not to rid my soul of one dark blot. To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am though tossed about with many a conflict many a doubt. Fighting and fears within, without, O Lamb of God I come. I come. Just as I am pour wretched, blind. Sight riches healing of the mind. Yea all I need in thee I find. O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am Thou wilt receive, wilt welcome pardon cleanse relieve. Because Thy promised I believe, O Lamb of God I come, I come.

Do you really think you are struggling? What are you struggling with? Could it be financially, physcially, or spiritually? Regardless of what it is there is hope for you! Jesus said,¨Come unto me all ye that are weary and heavy ladden and I will give you rest! You may say what do you mean by struggling? Well do you find it hard to get through another day? According to Webster’s dictionary – to struggle means to work with difficulty and effort. We often find ourself worrying when we should be praying. Sometimes we are dreading what will happen tomorrow when we should leave it in God’s hands, for He already knows about our tomorrows before they come to us. Instead of grumbling or feeling self pity, if we would react with prayer and praise, we would find the whole situation would change and by the time we get there everything would be different for us! WE wouldn’t need to struggle! When we get into a tight place and we think there is no more hope, that is the time to really hang on and the tide will turn for us!
Perhaps you may think I can’t do that. But we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! Philipians 4:13. Every time we go through an experience such as this we can gain new hope and courage if we will stop struggling and just leave it in God’s hands! I find, myself, that depression must leave, knowing it will have to leave if we call upon Jesus’ name!
Every time I hear of a suicide because of depression I really feel bad and think if only they had known Christ as their Saviour and personal friend, this wouldn’t have happened! Won’t you give Jesus a try today, and see what a change He will make in your life? Just start praying and praising God, let Him come into your heart. You really won’t have to struggle anymore! There is victory in Christ Jesus!
He will fill your heart today to overflowing, as the LORD commanded you, bring your vessels, not a few, He will fill your heart today to overflowing with the Holy Ghost and fire!
You can have a song in your heart in the night! After every trial, after every mile! Anyone can sing when the sun is shining bright, but you need a song in your heart at night!
There’ll be no more detours in Heaven. No rough roads along the way. I’m using my bible for a road map. The next stop is Heaven some sweet day.

It’s a good life living for the Lord! It’s a good life living for the LORD! It’s so wonderful just knowing our reward! Every day His prescious love I can enjoy. It’s a good life living for the LORD!
