Yes, Christmas is  coming the goose is getting fat.  Please put a penny in the old man’s hat!  I can hear my Dad  singing his favourite phrase before Christmas!  I thought he was just being funny, but as I think about it today he also could have been warning us not to look for too much as we knew he  couldn’t really afford a lot of gifts for six of us kids! However , I  don’t ever remember a Christmas when there wasn’t some gift under the tree for each one of us.  The most exciting that we all looked  forward to was the kitchen table that was decorated with a plate of candy with each one of our names on them along with  an orange! Talk about some excited kids! I really don’t know  who was the most excited,  Mom  and Dad looking on as we searched for our name, or us kids!’ We also+had three uncles who would spend quite a few Christmases with us who also had a plate of candy with their names on them!

The next thing  Dad would get his Bible and read the Story of Christmas and have prayer with us before breakfast, and then we could play with our toys!  We would each get a coloring book  and a   box of crayons!  I remember the first doll  that I got  for Christmas from Uncle Bob it was a black baby that I cherished for years!  I don’t remember what he gave the others  that year!  I remember a Brownie Camera  that my  Dad got for me one year when I was Ten or twelve years old and I thought I was really grown up!  Then when I was 14 years old, Mom made Joyce and I both felt skirts which were all the rage at that time!  The boys usually got cap guns or some other kind of boy’s toys!  When I was about 16 years old  I started saving any money that I could make for Christmas gifts, and I got a sweater for Len and Dad.,which i hid under my bed upstairs, I started up to make sure  they had not found them and Len pretended he was coming up so I started to turn around quickly and  when I did i put my knee out of place. That was the second time for that knee to do that and Dad quickly put it back in place for me but it is a Christmas  i’ll always remember!

Today Christmas doesn’t  mean  just getting a lot of gifts, I like the real meaning of Christmas so much better!  It is the day we celebrate the Birthday of Jesus Christ! I am content to just have my family around on Christmas Day   i know there may be days when this will  not be possible! But Jesus is always there for me! In those times as long as I know everyone is well at home  I will  be content!  Yes, if Christ tarries until the 25. of Dec, I know that Christmas is coming!

How many  times have you been asked this question ‘do you believe in life after death’?  I once had a cousin who told me she had had a death experience earlier and she told me she could look down at her body that was still on the bed and saw as the doctors worked to bring her back to life!  I don’t think there have been very many who have had such an  experience!  Now I don’t mean that kind of death when I asked this question.  We all  know of people who have gone on, some of them we feel were ready to go, while others we have to leave in the hands of a merciful God.  It is not our job to judge anyone!    In the book of Job chapter 14 & verse 14 Job asked the question ‘if a man die shall he live again’?    Many would have answered Job with ‘No, of course not’!   Now I also know that we have no promise of tomorrow! It is good to make  sure we know where we are going if we pass away!  As the Bible tells us there is only two places we can go, either heaven or hell, I’m sure that nobody would want to go to hell!  Hell is a place that was prepared  for the devil and his angels  but the Bible tells us that because man has become so wicked that hell hath enlarged itself!   Read Isaiah 5:14 to get what it says about it!  It  also tells us  that  Hell is a place that will burn forever and that there will  be weeping and wailing, and gnashing of teeth,   It sure doesn’t  sound like a  place I would  want to be! You can read this for yourself in Matthew 13 :49&50 .

I had a woman from a different denomination  visit me one day and she said “ if there is a heaven I don’t want to go there’!   I do hope she changed her thinking before she passed on. Revelations 21:22-24 gives us an idea of what heaven will be like!   the whole chapter is a great chapter to read!   I do want  to go to heaven!

Heaven, happy home above, Heaven land of peace and love, oh how I feel like travelling on!  Heaven eternal, heaven supernal, I am so glad that it’s real, oh how I want to go there!

When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be!  When we all see Jesus we will sing and shout the victory!

If anyone else is like my husband and I the first thing we do when we get out of bed in the morning is to look out the window and see what the weather is like today! This morning  it is a very nice day with the sun shining so bright we can say Thank you, Jesus, for another fantastic day! He gives us good weather every day, regardless of what we think of it, he knows just what we need! As the old saying goes,’red sky at night. sailors delight, red sky in the morning, sailors take warning!’   By this little saying a person can usually tell what kind of a day lies in store for us! If the sky is dark and overcast we usually say a storm is on it’s way!

Speaking of looking up, have you ever had a picture taken while looking down?  I think you would prefer to look up! I think your picture would turn out a whole lot better! Again, have you ever stopped to look up at the stars on a dark night?  What a beautiful sight to behold!  God’s handiwork is so beautiful!  Men think they are so smart but they can never be compared to what God has given us!  How could anyone ever say they  don’t believe there is a God up there who controls our universe?   He is certainly a great big wonderful God who cares for His people and knows our every need!  Micah 7 & 7  says  Therefore I will look unto the Lord.  I will wait for the God of my   salvation: my God will hear me!  Luke 7:19 And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus saying, art thou He that should come or look we for another? 20  Jesus answering said unto them, go thy way and tell John what things you have seen and heard; how the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to the poor the gospel is preached,  and blessed is he whosoever shall not be offended in me! John 4;35 Jesus said ….I say unto you Lift up your eyes and look on the fields: for they are white already to harvest  Luke 21&28  Jesus had been teaching  and they said unto Him what shall be the sign of your returning and Jesus said unto them And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, for your redemption draweth nigh!  Most of the all the signs  have   come to pass!  Are You looking up yet?

Looking for that blessed hope, Looking for that blessed hope!  We know the hour is nearing, The hour of His appearing! OH, We’re looking for that Blessed hope!

Home, Sweet home, home, sweet home, where I’ll never roam!  I see a light in that city so bright!  it’s my home, sweet home!

The King is coming!  The  King is coming!  I just heard the trumpet sounding and soon His face I’ll see!  The King is coming  for me! T he King is coming!  Praise  God, He’s coming for me!

Once again I can say I am so glad that God is so good to me!  He has answered my prayers so many times, even when I didn’t deserve it! I just want to thank Him for everything He has done and every prayer He has answered for me! Here are just some of the things He has done for me!  To start with He sent the glorious plan of salvation my way and gave me parents who brought me up to know and to serve Him. As I have said before, I remember Him talking to me even before I started to school.  When I was eight years old I was baptized in His precious Name for the remission of my sins, which I will never forget, and when I was twelve years of age He filled me with the gift of the Holy Ghost, He kept me down through the years even though I made many mistakes, He always forgave me when I called upon Him for forgiveness!  He healed my body, I  remember my Mom telling me that when I was just a baby I had pneumonia, even the doctor told her I probably wouldn’t live but she knew the great physician and he touched me  and made me whole!  it seemed I was always getting hurt, I fell backward from my highchair and broke my collarbone, and another time I fell out and burned my hands on a red hot stove!  I always came through, He always had His hand upon me!  The first time I remember my Dad praying for my healing I came home from school with a bad tooth ache and went up top my bed, crying, I didn’t go down for supper and the first thing I knew my Dad was standing beside me, saying so you have a toothache, I’m going to pray for you and Jesus will make it go away! So he prayed for me and immediately the pain stopped, and he took me down for supper!  I will never forget that experience!  Since then I have had several, more serious things, healed! Thank you Jesus, I am so glad I know Him! I also  had a w\onderful Dad that knew how to pray!

I will never forget that Sunday morning, August 8,1948 when Dad brought me home from church and said there is going to be a baptism this afternoon Sis.Minnie Beek is being baptized!   I said “can I be baptized too?” He said “well, I don’t know if you understand or not, I said  ‘yes I know why I want to be baptized, I want  to have my sins washed away’. he then looked at Mom who was working in the pantry and said ‘What do you think Mae?’ she then called me in to the pantry and talked to me, and I told her the same thing. She then said well, she is only 8 years old! Bro. Elwood McElman was there that  day and he said ‘don’t stop her if she wants to be baptized!’ So they agreed with him, and I was baptized that day!  Almost Four years later I received the gift of the Holy Ghost! (Jan 15,1952) I am so glad I obeyed the gospel of Acts 2:38. Then Peter said unto them Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus for the remission of your sins an ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost for the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are afar off as many as the Lord our God shall call! I am so glad I heard this message as a child and obeyed!

So if you have never heard this message before read Acts 2&38-39 and you will find it is for you today! You will also be glad you did!  First we must repent of all sin and then be baptized in the name of Jesus and you can come up out of the water speaking in that heavenly language! As I said before, You will be so glad you did!

I’m so glad that I’ve been buried in the name of the Lord, In the name of the Lord, in the name of the Lord.  I’m so glad that |I’ve been buried in the name of the ;Lord, since the name of the Lord has been revealed!

That name is Jesus!

Do you know anyone that you can really trust today? If you know at least one person you can fully trust you are really fortunate! I am really blessed to have my husband as I can trust whatever he says!  I may not always agree with him but I know he will do whatever he says he is going to do!  It is very seldom that I disagree with what he says! I always go to him for advice, as next to my LORD. he is my best friend and I trust him with everything!  I also know of a few friends that I can really trust too! I can tell them whatever and can trust them not to tell anyone else!  So you see I am really blessed! To be able to trust someone is quite a thing! So many  say that they are trustworthy but you find out when it’s too late that they were not, when somebody else comes along and tells you what you said in confidence!  In case you may not know what trust is, according to my dictionary this is what it says, unquestioning belief in the integrity, strength of a person or thing; a person or thing that can be relied upon! So if you have proven this to be true then you may be able to trust that person!  That is one thing I found out about my husband before I married him he could be trusted!  I wouldn’t want to go through life with someone that I couldn’t trust.I would recommend to anyone who is contemplating marriage that you find out if you can trust him/her before hand!

I do know one that I can trust with anything at anytime! His name is Jesus and I know that I can trust Him even more  than my husband!  He knows all about me and loves me just the same!  Psalms 4&5 says  offer the sacrifices of righteousness ,and put your trust in the Lord.  5:11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice:let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them  let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee!  7& 1 O Lord my God , in thee do I put my trust. Ps.34 & 8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: Blessed is the man that trusteth in Him!   Years ago my brother-in-law was very sick and I was sitting in church that Sunday evening praying for him When all of a sudden a hand wrote  the wall the following scripture on the wall in front of me:    ‘”Commit thy way unto the lord, trust also in Him’ and he shall bring it to Pass!”  When I nudged my husband to look at it, it left the wall . But he was healed and is still with us today  this scripture is found in Psalms 37& 5.  so many times since that I’ve had to trust in that promise! I love that scripture!   Isa. 26”4Trust ye in the Lord forever. In the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.  Mark10 & 24 Jesus said “ children, how hard it is for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God.  1Cor 1&9  But we had the sentenced of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God that raiseth the dead!  Jesus is just the same today , Praise His Holy  Name!

Trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey!

Trusting as  the moments fly  Trusting as the days go by Trusting Him what’ere befall Trusting Jesus that is all.
