Yesterday I wrote “There shall be showers’ but now I want to write about sunshine!  I think everyone likes to see the sun shine!   A person seems to feel so much better when they see the sun shining!  Well, the sun has been shining most of the day today!  Roy was able to mow the grass this morning! There was just a  light shower a few minutes ago but nothing major!  Irene (Scot’s girlfriend) was baptized on Thursday evening and the sun shining on Grand Lake was just beautiful!

-There is  sunshine in my soul today, more glorious and bright. Than glows in any earthly sky, for Jesus is my light! There is sunshine, Blessed Sunshine while the peaceful, happy moments roll! When Jesus shows His smiling face. There is sunshine in my soul!  It makes one feel so  good to know we have sunshine if God’s love is in our soul! When we get to heaven there will be no need of the sun or light for Jesus will be the light in that city! How much more beautiful that Son will be! I can hardly wait to see Him, and the Bible  tells us that we will be like Him., for we shall see Him as He is”!  Oh, I want to see Him, Look upon His face.  There to sing forever of His saving grace.  On the streets of Glory  let me lift my voice my voice!  Cares  all past, Home at last! Ever to rejoice!oh let the sun shine in, face it with a grin! Smiler’s never lose and frowner’s never win Oh, let the sun shine in, face it with a grin, open up your heart and let the sun shine in!

Have you ever seen so much rain in one day in all your life?  St  Stephen received 165mm.according to the radio this morning! We got at least 120mm and maybe more! We have water in our basement and gardens are flooded, water was flowing like a river down our driveway.  There were accidents caused by so much water on the roads. We needed rain as it was really dry but it seemed it all came at once! We still shouldn’t complain at least we haven’t had all the terrible tornadoes like some have had, although they did receive one a week ago down Cambridge, Narrows that did quite a bit of damage!  We have really been fortunate in this part of the country!

I do enjoy the rain as long as there is no lightening with it!  I enjoy hearing it falling on our tin roof at night, puts me right to sleep! I got up and came out about 4am and it was just teeming down! It was sort of a different story this morning when my hubby said “we have water in our basement” The weather forecast showers for Monday and Tuesday and again Thursday of this week.  It seems as if we could stand a bit of sunshine for a few days this week too!

As  much as I enjoy the rain what we really need are the showers of BlessingsI I once had an aunt who would pray ‘oh, LORD bless me” I really wondered why she did but now I find myself praying that way too! I do  want His Blessings on me!  I want to be ready to meet Him by and by! I want to be ready to meet Him in the sky!  I want to be more like Him and do His blest command.  For I want to be ready to meet Him in the Glory land!  There shall be showers of Blessings !  Oh, that today they might fall! There shall ne seasons refreshing now as  on Jesus we call.Showers of Blessings. Showers of Blessings we need! Mercy drops round us are falling But for the showers we plead!

Have you ever become so low down and discouraged that you just didn’t know what you were going to do?  I remember a time when I was just starting out. that I was         blamed for something that I just didn’t do, at that time I was so shy that I wouldn’t even stand up for myself,  sometimes I was so discouraged and down I felt it was almost useless to try to go on. But He told  us to cast our cares upon Him  for He careth for us! He also told us  to come boldly before  the throne of God that we might       obtain  mercy and find grace to help in time of need!  You might ask, how would  you do  that?   Just start thinking how He has blessed you in the past and start thinking about how good God is, and start thanking Him!  I just had to encourage myself in the Lord! Thank you Lord for always being there for me   For the most part I think we often wait for someone else to encourage us somehow, perhaps all it would take is a friendly visit from a dear friend or phone call would  help  ease    the depressed!

I often think of  King David, when King Saul was chasing him,and he was  going through so much that he joined the King of Ziklag.  When they went to war against the             Philistines  The Amalekites were angry with the King of Ziklag  because  of David and his men going with them. They said if they went David would change his mind  and fight against them and  they would all be dead men so the  King of Ziklag told David to rise early in the morning and go back to Ziklag. When David and his men came to Ziklag they  found the city  burned and their wives and children were missing. David wept before the  Lord and said“ should  I go after the Philistines or not?” The Lord told him, to go and he would recover all they had lost.  As they were going they found a young Egyptian who had been ill and had been left behind so they gave him food to eat and he showed them where the Philistines were and when they came upon them they were feasting and dancing celebrating because of the spoils they had taken.  David and is men killed every man and took their wives and children and went back to Ziklag. As David encouraged himself in the Lord,  even so, we should turn  to the Master Problem Solver, who is Jesus Christ!  He is the only one who can help us when we are down so low we don’t  know  which way to  go!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            He is able .yes He’s able! When the storms are  raging high!  He is able. Yes He’s able. He will guide you safely by!

Isn’t it a terrible feeling to awaken in the middle of the night and something is on your mind  and you just can’t seem to shake it off and go to sleep again!  That thing that has been bothering you just won’t leave so you twist and turn and keep watching the clock and the hours seem to pass by so slowly!  Perhaps you may have fallen into a doze just before the alarm went off and you woke up with a start because you have just had a horrible dream about the thing that had been bothering  you and has kept you awake for most of the night! You may be worrying about a loved one who, or has been/or is, so ill, or a son or daughter who has gone astray and you are just sick with worry and all the stress that goes along with it!  Or it could be a million other things!  You may be wishing for a good nights’ rest free of worry! To be truthful with you I have had nights just like the above, until I learned to cast my cares on someone else!   I remember when my Dad was living we were  talking about this very thing when he said  ”read Psalms 127 & 2”  He told me that when he couldn’t get to sleep , he would quote this scripture and would fall off to sleep. This is what it says “It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. Then as I was reading one day and this scripture seemed to jump out at me “I will both lay me down in peace and sleep, for thou,  Lord, only makest me dwell in safety!”  Psalms 4:8.  These are my favourite night time scriptures!

Then again it is so good to awaken with a song in your heart to the Lord! Job 35 ;10  but none saith, where is God  my maker, who giveth songs in the night! Psalms 40 &2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 3.  And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God,: many shall see it, and fear,  and shall trust in the Lord! Time and time again I will wake up with songs of Praise and worship going through my mind. This  song has been going  over and over in my mind since early morning “Redeemed and so happy in Jesus, no language my rapture can tell.  He lovingly guideth my footsteps and giveth me songs in the night!  Redeemed,Redeemed,Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb!  Redeemed, Redeemed, his child and forever I am!

You too can awaken in the night hours with a bubbling in your soul and thankfulness in your heart to the Lord for all his goodness and blessings on you!  Are you weary, are you heavy hearted?  Tell it to Jesus, Tell it to Jesus.  Are you grieving over joys departed? Tell it to Jesus alone.  Tell it to Jesus, Tell it to Jesus.  He is a friend that’s well known!  You’ve no other such a friend or brother , Tell it to Jesus alone!  Do the tears flow down your cheeks unbidden, Tell it to Jesus, Tell it to Jesus.  Have you sins that to men’s eyes are hidden? Tell it to Jesus alone!  Do you fear the gathering clouds of sorrow? Tell it to Jesus, Tell it to Jesus Are you anxious what shall be tomorrow? Tell it to Jesus alone!

Have you ever thought you would like to be a Server, say in a restaurant to serve other people?  Perhaps even in a nursing home  or even  your own home?  Have you ever been in a restaurant where the Server did not act as if he/she wanted to serve you? I think we have all experienced this at one tie or another! I remember  at one time my hubby and I went to a restaurant in Fredericton for a buffet on our Anniversary.  We waited in line for a half hour or more for  a table ad when we were getting our food a Server told us rather rudely that we only had twenty minutes to eat our food as the table was already reserved for another party!  We didn’t even have time to enjoy our meal!  At the time we both said that was our second visit, meaning our first and last time to be there, however we did go once after that with another couple! I have no desire to go back there again!  I have also been in restaurants where the Servers would bend over backwards to help you in any way that they can!  There is a restaurant in Oromocto that I enjoy so   much.  The Servers seem anxious to see you come in  (it is as if they are waiting for me and my hubby to come in) as they are right there to hold the door open while he gets me inside then they help us get a table nearby to make it easier for me, and when we leave they will again help us through the two doors!  This is all done without any fuss! I really appreciate their kindness and I( know they don’t have to do this sort of thing for anyone!  But what service we get from them and the food is simply delicious!

There are other ways to serve people as well. I know of at least one nursing home in the area that doesn’t get a very good name while others are fantastic!  Galatians 5&13….tells us by love serve one another.  For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this, thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself!  Matt 6:24  No man can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other or else he will hold to the one and despise the other.  Ye cannot serve God and mammon!  Their are  many people who make money their God, but we cannot serve God and  mammon [money]!  We were born to serve the Lord God! Psalms 100 & 2  Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing!

I will serve thee, because I love thee.  You have given life to me!  I was nothing before you found me. You have given life to me!  It was heartache and broken pieces, ruined lives are why you died on Calvary.  I was nothing before you found me.  You  have given life to me!
