Have you ever had someone come up you and ask’’ is he your father? I had someone ask me that question this week! They seemed really surprised when I said ‘yes’. I was always so proud to say that Lorne MacBeth was my father! He was highly thought of by many people! He went to be with his Saviour on N0v. 9,1987 and I miss Him still so much. He was a great man of God .MY husband had a man come up to him last week at, a funeral and ask if he is Scott Sparks’. father. He thought they 1ooked alike. even though he didn’t know my husband. Roy was Proud to say ‘Yes. I am scotts father. My husband too, is a great man of God. I have really been blessed!

Now when I was talking about fathers, I meant our earthly father. In Matthew 23 : 9 Jesus said to call no man father upon earth, for one is your father, which is in heaven, vs. 10 Neither be ye called master, for one is your master even Christ. vs.ii but he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. Therefore, we are not to pray to an earthly man and call HIM Father, for Christ is our heavenly father and with Him nothing shall be impossible. No man died to forgive my sin except Christ and He told us to come boldly before the throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need ! I am so glad that I know Jesus Christ as my heavenly father ! He alone can save us from our sin!

There is no one, no one like Jesus. There is no one, no one like Jesus! Who has died for me. Just to set my spirit free. There is no one, no one like Jesus1

This being Valentines Day, I thought I would write on His Am\zing Love! It is so nice to know that you are truly loved, my husband knows that I like yellow roses so he bought me a dozen yellow roses and my son got me a box of turtles! Am I spoiled or what? I don”t really think that I’m spoiled but I am truly blessed!

I know I don’t deserve the love of my family or husband and every time I ask him “ why do you love me?” I always get the same answer “because you are you”! This really amazes me, as he knows all of my faults and still loves me!After almost 47 years of marriage you would think he would know better! But as long as he is happy then I am too!

I want to tell you about one who loves me even more than my family or hubby does! The Bible tells me in St.John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for a friend! This is just exactly what Jesus did for me and not for me only but for you too! He knew me yet He loved me, this Jesus of Calvary! I was lost without hope when Jesus came into my heart and washed away my sin and shame and set me on my way rejoicing! I am so happy in Jesus that I want all the world to know that you too can have sweet peace in your heart if you will accept Him as your Lord and Saviour! I love this feeling down deep within, it is unexplainable! You have to taste for yourself! ! 1Timothy 1:15 says Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief! This verse explains how I feel about it.! He didn’t come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. I am so glad He came! He delivered me from so much in this life and in the life to come, now I don’t have to go to that awful place called Hell the Bible tells us about. It is a place of darkness, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. It is a Lake of fire! If you don’t accept Christ into your heart, this is where you will spend eternity; without Christ or hope of ever being free again. You don’t have to go to Hell as it was made only for Satan and his angels in the beginning but he didn’t want to go there by himself so he devised a plan to take us all with him. But God in His great Love for mankind came to set us free! Thank you so much Jesus, for your Amazing Love! I can never Thank You enough.

Once a sinner far from Jesus I was perishing with cold. But the Blessed saviour heard me when I cried. Then He threw His arms around me and He led me to the fold. Now I’m living on the hallelujah side. O Glory be to Jesus , let the hallelujahs roll. Help me ring my Saviour’s praises far and wide. For I’ve opened up to glory all the windows of my soul. And I’m living on the Hallelujah side!

In the last two weeks I have had at least four feasts! My nephew, Lorne and his wife Anne, has cooked a big meal and brought to us, curried chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, along with fabulous pork and beef stew! My son Scott and his girlfriend , Irene, also cooked a turkey dinner and brought it up to us! Talk about a feast, We all really enjoyed them everyone! When I asked what I could do they said “just enjoy”! Which I really did! They are all great cooks, Anne even made her own bagels which are just delicious! Then my sister, Joyce, sent me down Lasagna Soup which was real delicious and I had never had it before! My husband also is a very good cook and last night he made spareribs , which I always enjoy! SO if I am putting on a few pounds you can probably guess why!

I am also invited to another feast, which will be the Feast of all Feasts! It is called The Marriage Supper of The LAMB! The Bible tells us about it in Revelations 19:6-10. It says : And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice and give honour to him : for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready, And to her Was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white, for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints ( I sure don;t wan to miss out on this supper!) And He said unto me Write Blessed Are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the LAMB. These are the true sayings of God! ALL THINGS are ready come to the feast! Come for the table now is spread. Ye famishing, ye weary come and thou shalt be richly fed! Oh, hear the invitation! Come, whosoever will. Praise God for full Salvation , for whosoever will!

Now, I don;t know what will be served at this great supper, but I understand it is going to last for a long time! Oh how I want to meet you there! Won;t you please come to this Feast? THE INVITATION IS OPEN TO YOU TOO!

Who Will Supply?

Probably we have all been in this situation at one time or another, or perhaps many times, where we wonder now what am I going to do? I have nothing left, or I don’t have enough money for food to feed my family. You feel all down and out not knowing where the next cent is coming from to pay your bills!I mean yo

u may really be desperate not knowing what in the world is going on ! You may be working hard day and night but not getting ahead, or you may be out of work completely. You may have a rich relative but you are too proud to ask for a hands out! Everyone thinks you are…doing well and has no idea what you are going through! You are now at your wits end, not knowing what to do, when all of a sudden something happens that turns everything around! You may not be aware of who intervened but you are so relieved that they did. As I was having breakfast this morning and having my porridge my mind went to the poor homeless folks. They don’t even have a place to lay their head at night,, sleeping under bridges and under card board boxes, in alley ways and any place they can find for a bit of shelter from the cold, wind and rain! With no food to eat they go scavenging through garbage cans, etc trying to find a bite to eat. My heart goes out to these people, but I feel so helpless ,if only I could afford to help! There is only one way I know of and that is to tell them of God;s love for them, if they would only give Him their lives He would turn them all around and if they are addicted to Drugs and alcohol ,this addiction would be set free from the chains of sin that keep them bound! I want to tell you of some miracles that Jesus did while here on earth. After his sermon on the Mount he came down and in Matthew chapter 8 the Bible tells us that great multitudes of people followed Him. And behold there came a leper and worshipped Him and said “Lord id thou wilt thou canst make me clean.” Jesus put forth his hand and touched him saying “I will, be thou clean:and immediately he was cleansed. And when Jesus came into Capernaum there came a centurion saying “Lord my servant lieth at home sick of the Palsy, grievously tormented” Jesus said,:7.”I will come and heal him” The centurion answered and said “Lord,I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof, but speak the word only and my servant shall be healed” Je4sus said :go thy way and as thou hast believed so be it unto you.’ When Jesus came into Peter’s house , he saw his wife’s mother laid and sick of a fever, He touched her hand and the fever left her and she arose and ministered unto them! The same chapter tells us about the two men who were possessed with devils who cried out saying “Jesus, thou son of God, are you come to torment us before the time? they besought him saying If you cast us out let us go into that herd of swine! Jesus told hem to go and they .entered into the swine who ran into the water. The people from the village came and made Him leave the area. These are only a few of the miracles that Jesus did while on earth.. The Bible tells us that if all the miracles He did while on earth were written in books the world couldn;.t contain them! Jesus is just the same today! He is the only one who can and will supply our every need according to His riches in Glory through Christ Jesus our Lord!

Ready to go, ready to stay, Ready my place to fill. Ready for service lowly or great. Ready to do His will! I love Him better every day,I live Him better every day! close by His side I will abide. I love Him better every day!

As you probably know my dad worked in the woods for most of his life. As a result he used many axe handles, which he made himself, as no one else could please him when it came to making axe handles. As he knew just how they should feel in his hands. So I can remember him sitting on the old cot by the kitchen door in front of the wood stove whittling away. When he was through he would hang it up over the wood stove to dry so it was ready for the next morning. My dad had very little education, he quit school in grade four to help support his large family. Later on however, he educated himself by reading his bible. He later became a local licenced minister of the United Pentecostal Church and was assistant pastor of the Ripples Church for a number of years. He also was the adult teacher of the Sunday school class for many years. Before he became a Christian he was quite a character always playing horrible tricks on other people, but when he accepted Christ, his life was turned around and now he wanted to help people.

My father in law too used to make his own axe handles as he too worked in the woods. My husband remembers him sitting on the cot in the kitchen and whittling away. His wife Violet would say, “Sandy, you’re making an awful mess.” to which he would reply, “I know Violet, but its clean dirt.”.

My husband left school at the end of grade ten and went to work at NB Tel, then went to work in the woods and realized this was no place for him. He worked in a wood mill for a while and then went to St John to work at the dry dock for a few years. After, he worked in the pulp mill and then went back to the dry dock to work on ships. While working at the pulp mill, he got an extra 5 cents an hour for using a jack hammer. For the first three days while using the jack hammers he was so shaky he couldn’t handle a spoon. He gradually became used to it but it was hard work in dangerous places. So he gave that up and came back to Fredericton to work with James S. Neill and Sons as a repair technician and then on to Medjucts where he worked until they sold out to Aberdeen service. He worked there for thirty six years until retirement.

I remember when I was working in Fredericton they were taking up the sidewalks in front of my office, they had three men using jack hammers and the noise was so loud we could hardly hear each other talking in the office. There was one man who seemed to be constantly taking breaks and passing his jack hammer over to someone else. As I watched I thought, “What an awful job for anyone to have to do to make a living!”. While the men were jack hammering, you could feel the ground shaking under you. When the ground would tremble underneath me, it made me think of earth quakes. We have had a few earth tremors since that and it always frightened me and they would remind me of jack hammers. The bible tells us that in the last days the world will reel back and forth and stagger like a drunken man. He commandeth and raiseth up the stormy wind which lifteth up the waves there of they mount up to the heaven they go down again to the depths their soul is melted because of trouble. they reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man and are at their wit’s end then they cry to the lord in their trouble and He bringeth them out of their distresses He maketh the storm calm so that the waves there of are still then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven oh that men would praise the lord for his goodness and for his wonderful works to the children of men. Psalms 107: 25-30. That time is coming upon us and we are beginning to experience some of the things that are coming to pass. For He is a personal saviour, He’s my friend, I love Him so, He did for me a personal favour that’s the reason why I tell it wherever I may go.

Diamonds in the rough have to be cut and smoothed out before they are beautiful gems. Fingernails get rough edges and have to be filed to smoothness or they catch on our panty hose or lace or our fine clothes. Sometimes our lives get rough edges that we need to have smoothed out by our Maker. Envy is a rough spot in our lives that we need to repent of and let God smooth out. Ecc. 5&2 says “Again I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit. Envy and Covetousness are first cousins. Covet means to long for, especially something belonging to another Psalms 119:36 says :Incline my heart to thy testimonies, and not to covetousness” Jesus will supply our needs according to His riches in Glory. We don’t have to desire what someone else has, Sometimes I sort of desire another’s walk with God; They seem to have it “all together”. That’s when I need to get on my knees and let God smooth out some more rough edges in ,my life. God is no respecter of persons. Bitter words or gossip can also make us rough around the edges. We need God to polish us some more. Ecc. 5:2 says Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter anything before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon the earth; therefore let thy words be few.” It’s better that we say nothing than to say unkind words that can never be taken back. Pride is another thing that needs& to be smoothed out with prayer. Pride can cause us to fail and lose out with God. We need to let the Lord humble us and smooth that catch of the enemy of our souls. Anger, oh that’s another rough edge! Ecc. 7 & 9 “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry; for anger resteth in the bosom of fools!” Only God can smooth all our rough edges! He is able! !Submitted by Maxine Gloria Bell! He is Able, yes, he’s able! When the storms are raging high, He is able, yes he’s able. He will guide you safely by!
