INDEBTEDNESS!

Have you ever known anyone who loved to be indebt to somebody else? I Have never known anyone like this, although I have  known those who were in debt but they didn’t want to be in debt to anyone! Many people like this will not even other to pay what debt they do owe and therefore will really get themselves in deep trouble!  I hear of people who owe so much they go Bankrupt.  Even going Bankrupt is  not as it used to be, the stigma that was attached to it a few years ago has disappeared and people will usually gain from it.  My husband has never been in debt like this but has always wanted his bills paid before they were due. He doesn’t even own a credit card, although I often think it would come in handy at times when ordering something but he won’t hear of it!  It makes you feel so good when  someone in line ahead of you steps up and  unbeknown to you says I will pay  the bill for those behind me! There was a day when I owed a great debt that I couldn`t pay  and did not know what to do about it. Then someone told me that my debt had already been paid! Oh,what joy and what a great feeling to know that my debt was all paid! I was born in sin and shaped iniquity but Jesus Christ knew all about it and He laid down His own life for me! Now I don`t have to go to hell for all the wrong I have done! He has taken care of it all for me and also for you if you will just accept Him as your personal Saviour according to Acts`2;38. You can go to bed at night with a clear conscience knowing that if anything should happen before morning you would go to be with Jesus!  What a wonderful thought!

Jesus ¸paid it all. All to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain. He  washed it white as snow.I owed a debt I could not pay,He paid a debt He did not owe.I needed some one to wash my sins away, and now I sing a brand new song amazing grace.Christ Jesus paid the debt I could never pay.

A GREAT PRICE!

We  just got home from a sale across the road at the Activity Center for the Romero House!   This is a House run by Olive Raymond  for the Homeless women  and those who have been abused. They had lots of goods for sale at good prices so I really hope they can sell everything today! Roy purchased quite a few things and gave a small donation and I hope others will do the same!  Olive is a sweet person who really loves to help others! My  hubby and I went to a yard sale in Lakeville Corner yesterday and he got me a good walker at a good price too! As you can probably tell I am a real cheapie and my favourite store is the Dollar Store!  My husband prefers yard sales to the Dollar Store!  He has gotten some good bargains at yard sales, another store he likes to shop at is The Giant Tiger.  He says they have lots of great sales and it is Canadian owned and operated!

I know another good deal!  I want to tell you about another Great Price that was paid but it was in no way cheap.  It was the price that was paid for our salvation.  Many people today make salvation sound very cheap saying all you have to do to be saved is to do the best you know how and you will go straight to heaven. That is not what the Bible tells us!  Jesus Christ paid a Great Price for our salvation when He went to the cross of Calvary and gave His Lifès blood for you and me!  Surely it is not asking too much of us to repent of our sins and be baptized in that precious Name of Jesus for the remission of our sins (or to have then washed away in the sea of His forgetfulness, never to e remembered against us anymore) and to be filled to overflowing with His Holy Spirit. Then to walk with Him in holiness until He calls us home to live and reign with Him throughout the countless ages of eternity!  It is a  wonderful experience when He comes into our life by His Spirit and it is also a wonderful life living for Him.  He has not promised us an easy road but He has promised to be with us every step of the way, we do not have to walk alone!  What a great promise, along with the Great Price that he already paid for us!  What a Great Deal!Thank You, Jesus Christ, my Lord and  Saviour!  Oh Calvary, Calvary, won`t you  please, please   speak to me  Tell  me how much I owe  I want  to  repay,  Then a voice echoes clear from the hills of old Judea, tell the lost, tell the lost,  tell the lost!

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS!

.When I was a child I loved to play Questions and Answers! It was always lots of fun! 1f you have never played it before I will explain it to you! We always had lots of laughs! The more people you have to play the more fun it is. You divide the people into two equal groups with a leader for each side. One leader will whisper a question to each person on his side while the other leader whispers an answer to each person on his side. Then start with the question and the first answer, and keep going down the line! We had an old gentlemen staying with us at one time and when it came his partner’s turn to ask him a question she asked “how old are you?” His answer was “I’m too old to cut the mustard” I can still hear them laughing, he was a little quiet man , but sat there shaking and the tears rolling down his cheeks, while the others roared with laughter! Our daughter and her husband just brought us home from a day trip to St.Andrews which I really enjoyed! When we came in the house she asked me if it played me out, if I was tired? This sort of made me laugh as I so easily play completely out, but not today! I thoroughly enjoyed myself! There are all kinds of questions a person could ask, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to answer them. However, I would like to try to answer some questions that some people may like to have answers to. (1) What is the Bible? The Bible is God’s Holy Word! Throughout the old testament there is a theme of expectation and longing to find God! Job said, “oh that I knew where I might find Him.” Within the heart of every man there is a longing to fill that empty space which was put there by God. Eternity is in the heart of every man, and nothing can fill that longing but the eternal God!; (2) Who wrote the Bible? the old Testament was written over a period of 1400 years by thirty-two writers and covers a period of 3600 years of man’s day. These writers came from all walks of life. yet each is in perfect harmony with all the rest.Read 11 Peter 1:21. The Bible has no scientific mistakes because God knew every fact of science from the beginning! The most important thing is the Bible has not changed. The old testament was a constant searching and seeking for the more perfect way! The Bible tells us that that the prophets of old enquired and searched diligently for this salvation that we enjoy today! Read 1 Peter 1:10-12,The old testament was our schoolmaster to lead us to Christ. The word testament means a will. God entered into a new will with His children, and from Matthew to Revelation we have the revelation of that will. A will is of no value until the testator is dead, so the full revelation was not made known until after Christ death, which was followed by His resurrection. The new testament is composed of 27 books, with eight authors over a period of one hundred years. The first four books are known as the gospels. The book of Acts tells us how to become Christians, The epistles tell us how to live the Christian life. These books were written to people who were already christians , therefore there were no instructions given them how to be saved as they had already been born Again of the water and the spirit by receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost! The Apostle Paul wrote fourteen of these books, they are called the Pauline Epistles, the other seven epistles were written by four men. There is only one book of prophesy in the new testament it is called the Book of Revelation which was written by the apostle John!  (3) Who was Jesus Christ? Divinity and Humanity are united in the person of Jesus Christ, making Him both God and Man! Isaiah 7:14 states behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son (flesh) and thou shalt all his name Immanuel “God with us”! Again in Isa.9:6 we read…Unto us a child is born (humanity) unto us a son (Humanity) is given…and His name shall be called the mighty God (Divinity) …the everlasting Father (Divinity” John 1:1 All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made! Therefore we know that He is the mighty God! Jesus was in the world and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.John 1:10..His duel nature was evidenced when he said, "destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.John 2:19. Acts 2:32 states This Jesus hath God raised up! ! Peter 3:18 declares that He was quickened by the Spirit”& (4) Well then, how can I be saved? You must first believe that God is and is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. Then you must obey what Peter told them to do in order to be saved according to Acts 2:38. Why not just taste and see that the Lord is good! The mighty God is Jesus, the Prince of Peace is He! The everlasting father, Our king eternally! The wonderful in wisdom, by whom all things were made. The fullness of the Godhead in Jesus is displayed! How great is our God! How great is His name! He’s the greatest one, forever the same. He rolled back the waters of the mighty Red Sea, and He said i’m going to lead you, Put your trust in me!

Have you ever been lost on a country road not knowing where you were? Perhaps you pulled over to the side of the road and asked someone for directions. If you were fortunate they would tell you how to get where you wanted to go and you would continue on your way. We still get a laugh out of what happened when we were just teenagers. There were six or eight of us walking along the road, on our way to a wedding, when a car load of strangers pulled over and asked for directions to the Church we were going to, as they too, were on their way there! My sister, who was the oldest of the little group walked over to the car and told them to continue on down the road for about one mile and you will see the church! With a big smile and a wave of her hand as they drove away she yelled “You can’t help but miss it! What a laugh we had at her expense! Another day when the children were small we decided to take a short trip to Juniper to visit some friends. We went as far as McAdam and my hubby who dislikes driving , decided to take what he thought was a shortcut, This turned out to be an old logging road and the further we went the worse it got. We couldn’t find a spot to get turned and he kept saying “we are almost to the end of it now” this went on for miles. At last we came upon an old man with a horse and wagon who told us how to get out and to continue on the right road to Juniper! What a relief for all concerned! However, we continued on and had a wonderful day with our friends, Bro. & Sis. McElroy and Brenda Mae. How many times have we started some kind of a project and quit before we had it finished? I am known for this I have a trunk upstairs with projects that are not completed, mostly because I would start something and couldn’t see enough to finish it. Just this yearI started to read my Bible through as I couldn’t get it finished last year because of my eyes. but sorry to say, once again I am away behind in it although I use magnifyers to read with. A couple years ago I read it through four times that year! I’m continuing on and even if I am slow getting there I want to read it all again! I feel this is one of the most importasnt projects I am doing! 11 Timothy 2:15 says Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to b e ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth! 11 Timothy 3:14-17 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them,(15) and that from a child thou hast known the Holy scriptures which are able to make thee wise unto Salvation; through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, correction, for instruction in righteousness. (17) That the man.of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.Jesus is coming soon now is not the time to give up or quit!Let us continue in the faith and be rapture ready as it could be just any time! Im going to read my Bible through, pull the latch string in the blue, I’m going to knock, knock, knock at my neighbours door and see what God will do!Read your bible pray every day and you will grow, grow ,grow.

B L I N D N E S S !What a terrible thing it would be to be completely blind! I do know what it is to be partially blind as I lost the sight in my right eye when I was 21 years of age. At that time they were afraid I would also lose sight in my left eye too, but one night in church my Pastor, Bro. F. McCarty prayed for me and the infection left, Thank you Jesus. This was all brought back to mind as I visited a friend in the Nursing Home on Friday. She is 101 yrs. old, her Birthday is Oct.7th. She never complains and her mind is sharp as a tack! My husband’s grandmother was also blind for twenty years before she passed away My father-in-law always had a garden and grew beans which his grandmother shelled by hand ,picking out the bad ones as she worked ,not missing any . She loved to piece quilt tops by hand, and made a quilt top for each family member including Roy. my father-in-law put a clothes line up from the door of the house to the outhouse so that she just hooked her cane over the line and walked along, they had no electricity in those days and no bathrooms either. There is a blindness that is even worse than a physical blindness, it is called Spiritual blindness! 11Corinthians 4:3&4 explains this kind of blindness to us, Verse 3 says “, But if our gospel be hid it is hid to them that are lost. (4) in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ , who is the image of God should shine unto them (5) For we preach not ourselves but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants for Jesus sake. (6) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts , to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.(7) But we have this treasure in earthern vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us. Also Eph. 4:17&18 This I say therefore and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind. Having the understanding darkened being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the Blindness of their heart.(19) who being past feeling have given themselves over into lasciviousness to work all uncleanness with greediness. Philippians 3:13….But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, (14) I press toward mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus ! He set me free from the chains that had me bound in sin! He turned my life around the night that I was born again! It wasn’t just the water that swept over me. Jesus washed away my sin and set me free!
