THE STORM!

Well, here we sit looking out the window at the snow falling, once again another snow storm is on  it’s way! We just had approximately 30-35 cent of snow on Friday but  this is the start of a brand  new week and a brand new storm! The weather forecast just said to expect at least 20 cent. by 6pm.  I love to see the the snow  myself but do feel sorry for those who have to work and drive in this. The fall and winter is my favorite time of year

We have been caught in a couple blizzards and I can tell you right now it is no fun, it’s really scary! I remember one night coming home from work in a blizzard and my husband had to sit on the hood of the car as his brother-in-law couldn’t tell where he was going! What a relief it was to sere the lights of home!  Another time we were coming from St.George when it just started to snow and before we got to the Saint John turn-off the snow was piling up, it had turned into a blizzard and we had another 60 Km to go, We had just come over Petersville Hill when an angel passed us in the form of a police car and led us to Geary  about 20km..and disappeared.By this time we knew where we were!  By the time we got home there was a foot and a half of snow on the ground!

I once read a story of a couple who left their chilren at home while going to a neighbors house in a blizzard and when they didn’t return home a search party found them sometime later frozen to death in the snow. What a tragedy!

Going through this life we face so many different kinds of storms! The winds will start to blow with a vengence and we may think our ship is going  to sink. That is when we need Jesus in our ship as He alone can save us! Satan will come and try to buffet us and do his best to discourage and tare us down. That is when we need to rebuke him in Jesus Name and he will have to flee!

Matt.8:23-27 tells us a story about Jesus and His disciples going into a ship and behold , there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves, but he was asleep. And His disciples came and woke Him saying Lord save us, we perish.  And He saith unto them, why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. But the men marveled, saying, what manner of man is this that even the winds and the sea obey Him! Sometimes when we get discouraged and down we too, are fearful but if we stay in the ship with Jesus we can be sure that we are safe. That is when we can feel the calmness and peace that He alone can give!

He will calm the troubled waters of your soul, Sanctify your heart and make it whole. When the storms of your life seems dark and cold, He will calm the troubled waters, the dark troubled waters of your soul!

IT’S TIME!

I feel it’s time for me to write on this topic “IT’S TIME’  Now I always like to be able to describe the word that I am writing about but this is the first for me that I just cannot find a meaning for the word “time” in a dictionary. When I went to Webster’s all it said was: see occasion, see opportunity or the proper moment. But I would like to know more,  where does time come from or where does time go? We use this word so often and it can be used in so  many different ways.

We may say it is time to do this or that, it is time to go or stay,  It is time to go to work; it is time to go shopping,it is time to visit friends,  What I hear most often is “it is time to go to church!”  There is a time for everything that we do!  Have you ever really stopped to think about it?  Ecc.3:1 says there is a time for every purpose under the sun. Verse 2 – A time to be born and a time to  die, read on down through that chapter and you will find there is a time for everything we can think of!

Then there is Eastern daylight saving time and Atlantic Standard time. In the winter we are on slow time (fall back)  but in summer we spring ahead one hour!  Time goes by so swiftly. Ps.89:47 says “Remember how short my time is!

1 Cor.7:29 But this I say brethern the time is short.  God in His wisdom made time!  This is something that He alone could do, He alone has control of time, man can do nothing about it. When our time comes to leave this old world we just go to our reward. Rom.13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. 2 cor.6:2 …behold now is the accepted time, behold now is the day of salvation. Rev. 10:5&6 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven.and sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth and the things that therein are, and the sea and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer.

Folks, I think that if time was short back in Bro,Paul’s day that it must be that much shorter now, Jesus is coming very soon! We know it is appointed unto man once to die and then there is the judgment. If we believe God;s Word at all then  we should prepare ourselves to be ready for that day when time shall be no more. It is high time we obeyed Acts 2:38, and then live a holy life that we may hear Him say “well done, thou good and faithful servant enter into the rest that I have prepared for you!”

Lift thine eyes and behold the latter rain, falling today to ripen up the grain. Jesus is coming soon and with Him we shall reign, Jesus is coming soon again!  Thank you, Jesus!

JUST WAITING!

Well, here I sit once again just waiting for my husband to return to the car, He is running an errand for me. It isn’t very often that i get to go shopping now and I sometimes get a bit frustrated but he is very patient , He hasn’t complained one bit today and he must be half frozen, it is so cold today with a wind. So I’m not going to complain today because I am just waiting!

For me to sit and wait, for the most part, is not a bad  thing. Sometimes I couldn’t go if I really wanted to. I do enjoy just getting out to see the sites and people moving about. I do try to make the waiting time worthwhile so I sit here and write a bit or sketch something I would like to paint.   I am excited today as I sit ands wait for hubby to come back as he is getting some craft supplies for me. My  therapist told me to get some fleece and a needle to make things for my feet that will prevent ulcers from developing. I am sure he must really love me to do this on such a cold day while I sit in a nice warm car and just wait for him!

Now I am just waiting for a miracle and I will be so excited when it happens, I have Parkinson’s Disease and that is why I am unable to get around wi3thout my walker. Jesus tells us in Matthew 21:22”And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing , ye shall receive! I know without a shadow of a doubt that He is well able to heal me if it is his will.  He knows what is best for me!

I am just waiting for that great day when Jesus takes us home to be with Him! I am so excited to know that I won’t have this disease anymore!  I’m going to have a new body! Jesus told us that we will be like Him, for we shall him as he is!

We are waiting, just waiting, We are waiting for the moving of the waters; We are waiting , Savior Dear,We are  waiting come by here. We are waiting for the moving of the waters!

REACH OUT!

On May 8,2010 I went to my small appliance cabinet in my porch to get my sandwich maker but when I turned I started to fall, I tried to reach out for something to grasp but there was nothing to hang on to so down I went and broke my shoulder1 I called my husband who came running out and asked if I was hurt. I replied “yes and I smashed my sandwich maker!” My shoulder still bothers me today and I now walk with a walker or use my wheelchair I am sure that when I reach out I can grasp something. My brother-in-law bought me a new sandwich maker

A year ago this past fall my husband went down to help my son who was working on his roof. He climbed the ladder  and was putting rafters up when he reached out to set the next rafter the ladder kicked out sideways . he caught the top of the wall and let himself on down to the ground  But when he went sideways he hit onto the rafter that was already  there and cracked one or two ribs and bruised his side all up. I didn’t find out what happened until 3 weeks later when I heard him telling someone else about being so sore from his fall.  I knew he  was lame but when I would ask him why he was so lame he pretended it to be another attack of arthritis. He was helping me all this time and hurting so bad  himself but never once  complained  about it to me. I still feel bad about it. If only I had known but he kept right on working at the roof as well.

It is pretty scary when you start to fall and you try to reach out but there is nothing to grab and down you go in a pile. it has happened to me quite a few times lately. I hope it doesn’t happen again! Then there is a different kind of a fall that is scarier still and I pray it will never happen to me!  I can never be sure that it won’t because I am just as human as anyone else and just as prone to falling. This kind of fall started in the Garden of Eden when Satan told Eve to reach out and partake of the forbidden fruit. Then Adam joined in with her and ate of this fruit too and they plunged the whole world into sin!  If only she had listened to God in the first place how different it would be today!

Today we live in a world that is far from perfect and gets only worse with 4ach passing day. God knew what would happen so he made  a way for us to reach out to Him for help. When Jesus was on the cross he cried out “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do”. Today we can reach out to the life-line, Jesus Christ, by repenting of our sins and obeying Acts 2:38, that is being baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sin (or washing our sin away) and He promised to fill us with His Holy Spirit. Roman 8:11 says “But if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his  Spirit that dwelleth in you”  1Cor 15:51 Behold I show you a mystery, we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,,,,,,,vs.54…then shall be brought to pass this saying that is written,Death is swallowed up in victory,56..The sting of death is sin and the strength of sin is  the law. 57 But Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

Reach out and touch the Lord as He passes by. You will find He’s not too busy to hear your heart’s cry. He is passing by this moment your needs he;ll supply.  Reach out and touch the Lord as He passes by!

ARE YOU READY?

Are you ready are about the most frequent words I hear my husband  speak!  He is a man of very few words but sometimes will get quite impatient with me as I am getting slower, it seems, every day! I never was as fast as him when it came to getting ready to go someplace, it seems I was always tagging along behind. When my children were little I would claim I had to get them ready first  and then I would be last to get ready. It seems I have been hearing these three words forever!

I once had a neighbor who told me a story about being late for her own wedding!  In those days they travelled by train and they were being married in Minto. She was working for Daisy and Charles Fulton qt the time and had been living in the house that I was brought up in., up on the hill!  They usually listened for the train to blow it’s whistle out Fernmount  and they could be at the station when the train rolled in.  This day she wasn’t quite ready when they heard the train blowing it’s whistle, Well, Charley took

off running for the station and left her behind still getting ready, When the train came in Charley asked the engineer to stop in front of the house and wait for Rita, which he did.  After a few minutes Rita came out of the house and went  running down the hill in her wedding dress and boarded the train for Minto! How she would laugh when she would tell me that story!

Well,I wasn’t late for my wedding but I was very excited! Speaking of Weddings there is going to be a wedding that I have been invited to participate in and i don’t plan on being late for it! In fact I am all ready for it now, as i expect it to happen just any day now1 Jesus is coming to take his children to the marriage supper of the Lamb! Oh, how I want to be ready and have my wedding garments on!  Hebrews 9:27 & 28 says – And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment; So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation!   Are you looking for him to come with your wedding garments on? I truly hope so, and I am praying you will be Ready too!

Oh, I want to be ready to meet Him bye and bye, Oh, I want to be ready to meet Him in the sky.  I want to be more like Him and do His blest command, For I want to be READY to meet Him in the Glory land!

HERE’S MY CUP!

Did you go to one of those one room country school houses like  I did? If so, you probably remember the pail  of water which sat at the back of the room, and the dipper that hung on the nail, along with a wash  basin to wash our hands. The students would all line up to get a drink from the dipper, which we would pass from one to another. We would sometimes make paper cups if we had the paper. A lot of time we used a slate and a slate pencil. No paper was needed. Only needed a damp cloth to wash our slate.  We would take turns each day going to the well across the road or further on down the road and across the field to a spring for a pail of water. Since the well water didn’t taste as good as the water from the boiling spring , we usually went to the sp Furthermore we would return late and get away from class just a bit longer by doing so! Upon getting back to the school we could be the first in  When we went to Junior High there were water fountains. We still had to line up while each child would put his mouth down to he fountain and take a big slurp of water. Sometimes you could taste chlorine and often smelled like rotting eggs. It was not very sanitary back then, there is no wonder kids were always sick and coming down with something or other!  How good the water tasted when we got home and filled our cup up with that good cold well water!

My little brother, Ernie, had a little  blue tin cup with Mickey Mouse on the side of it that was given to him. One night an old man stopped in to spend the night, He had gone to Fredericton and was too tired to walk on home that night to Scotchtown.  While eating that night, Ernie sat next to him with his precious little cup, This old man liked to tease and reached over and took his cup. Being very young and not knowing this guy really well, he was so upset, although he didn’t say a word, he sat there with tears streaming down his face, he really thought he would never get his cup back!

There is a story in John chapter 4m that I love to read. One day Jesus left Judea and headed for Galilee and he needed to go through Samaria. He came to a city called Sychar and Jacob’s well was there. When a Samaritan woman came to draw water Jesus asked her to give Him a drink.  She wondered why ,Jesus being a Jew, would ask a woman of Samaria for a drink.  Jesus told here, if she only knew who said “give me to drink” she would have asked of him to give her a drink and He would have given her living water. Jesus told her “whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again, but whosoever drinketh of the water of the water that I shall give him, shall never thirst, the water that I shall give him shall be in him  a well of water springing up into  everlasting life! Jesus pretty much told her her life;s history, and that He was the Messiah!  She left her waterpots and went into The city saying”Come, see a man who told me all things that ever I did, is not this the Christ?”

I am so glad that one day Jesus gave me a drink of that Living Water!  I makes me feel good when I don’t feel well! I love Him so much because He first loved me! Just fill my cup again Lord!

Jesus gave her water, that was not in the well, She went away singing and came back bringing, others for the water that was not in the well!
