It seems that most of my life I have been a weakling! Many times I have said “How I wish I were stronger”. It would make things so much easier for not only myself but also for  my husband and family. I usually depend upon my husband to do the hardest part of the work around the house.  Since he retired I have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and as I can’t get around very well he has to do most everything. He seems to be fairly strong, although he has had a lot of sickness this past year. I sometimes wonder just how long his strength will last.  It is then we will really be in deep trouble.

I have a granddaughter who is so strong she can actually lift me right off the floor if and when she so desires,I’m sure!

There was a man by the name of Samson who was the strongest man ever!  His strength was given him by God from birth, His strength was meant to glorify God and he did just that until one day a lady that he fell for ruined him. Now he was as weak as any other man,Until he once again called upon His God and gained strength once again he killed more people in his death  than ever before.  He knew where to go for help!

Away back in the old Testament when Moses blessed Asher he said, As thy days, so shall thy strength be! Eph 6:l0 says Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Verse 13  tells us to put on the whole armour of God that we may be able to withstand against the powers of the enemy! Oh, to be strong in the Lord!

I am standing on His promises and trusting in His Word!  There may be days when we feel weak in body but the joy of the Lord is our strength.  Paul said, “When I am weak then am I strong!”

The joy of the Lord is my strength, the joy of the Lord is my strength. The joy of the Lord is my strength. The Joy of the Lord is my strength!  He gives me Living Water and I thirst no more, the Joy of the Lord is my strength!

Another year has once again passed by so quickly and the Christmas season is upon us already.

This is the one time of the year when we feel we can shop until we drop or run out of money! Oh the joys of

Christmas shopping! First of all I like to make a trip to town just to look around and to see what is available. I want to have a list of all people I have to buy for , and try to figure out just what to get for each one, also the price I want to pay for each gift, as I don’t want to go in debt over Christmas. Now I can’t think of one thing I’d really need to get, and I really don’t want to get something just for the sake of spending money. God is so good and has blessed us with so much! There may be those this Christmas who have nothing to eat and are sleeping on the streets! Many do not know the Lord as their Saviour and have no place or no body to turn to. I had a a great day shopping today! We left home at 2 pm. and got back home at 5:10. Now that was a very long day for me. I tire so easily these days, I am usually exhausted by day’s end. It is so much fun to shop if you have lots of money and the time to do it, Before I was married I enjoyed just going window shopping with some friends, even if I didn’t have much money to buy, Things are so much more expensive today than in earlier days. I remember just a while after we were married my husband gave me forty dollars and told me to go buy some dresses. Well, I went to Levine’s Store and came home with what I thought were four beautiful dresses at $10.00 a piece. When I showed my husband, all he said was,"is that all the dresses you bought?" I really don’t know how many he thought $40. would buy, but even back there I thought I had struck a great deal! I just remember how hurt I was at the time.

Now have you ever heard of people going what they call church shopping? You may think I mean just going shopping with friends from the church! But no, I really mean trying to find a church where you are comfortable and enjoy it, I was at work one day and I heard some people talking about shopping for a church. They asked what our church believed but apparently wasn’t satisfied with my answer so they finally settled for another denominational church. It is time you to do more than just shop for a church as the Lord is coming soon to take his people up in the rapture of the church. It is time to really study your Bible and seek God’s will for your life. He then will lead and guide you to the right church. Just don’t seek a church for a Pastor that will only try tickling your ears but one who will preach the truth of God’s Word so that you will be ready for that great day! Yes, he may step on our toes a few times but pray about it and if it isn’t in the Bible then don’t accept it as the right church for you!

I’m in this church, this glorious church, I did not join, no I was born, I had a new birth. Some glorious day I’ll sail away. It’s by His grace, not by my works, I’m in this church! Thank you, Jesus, You came to this earth as a babe in a manger and took my Place on Calvary and now I can have eternal Life through Jesus Christ my Lord! Thank You for this Christmas season!

If you are like me then we have to have a plan to do most anything we do. I also find that with my short memory a “to do list” comes in very handy. Even when I write a story I have to pray about it and plan it out as I want to give the praise to Jesus! So I write what I feel He would have me to.  If I have extra work to do and I don’t want to forget anything, I write it down. I guess age has a lot to do with it!   A quite a few years ago my husband decided to build us a house.  In order to do this we had to sit down and decide first of all what kind of a house we wanted. Even though we thought we had it all figured out and a plan all drawn up he found out later that it was not a perfect plan at all.  It seemed that almost every time he came home after working at this new one, he would say,”Well we had to change where the stair well was, or we put the bathroom in a different place “  There were times I wondered if it would be anything at all like we really wanted. But lo and behold it turned out pretty good after all.  But he still needed to go by a plan! I have always loved my home, the biggest reason being I guess is because I know it was built with love. He built it himself, with Bro, John Nickerson’s help!

When our children were younger we most always took a summer vacation so that Roy could get away from his work and be with his family for a few days. We would sit down and decide where we wanted to go and what we would like to do. It was always just so much easier if we knew where we were going before we  started out.  I do remember one trip when we made a Hugh mistake and found out before we went too far down the road that we had taken the wrong vehicle.  We should have taken our own car instead of Roy’s work van.  It was so very uncomfortable all the way and back again.  That was one trip we that we were happy to get home again!

Perhaps you have at one time been expecting company and prepared a nice big meal but they failed to show up. What a disappointment!

In the beginning God, who is a Spirit, had a plan! He wanted a people for His name sake. Today if we want to have a name sake we try to have  children, especially a son to carry on his father’s name. So God created the universe and also a man and a woman.  Now He had somebody to love  and commune with and they would love  Him and each other.  The Bible tells us this plan failed when Adam and Eve disobeyed His command and ate of the fruit of the tree of Knowledge of good and evil. God killed an animal and made them coats of skin to cover themselves. Their sin threw the whole world into sin. Since then we have all been born in sin and shaped in iniquity.  After many long years of having to make sacrifices, killing animals and burning them on the altar. God put his second plan into action.

God came to earth in the form of a baby, born in a manager in Bethlehem.  His own despised him and King Herod tried to kill him by killing all baby boys 2 years of age and under, but Joseph took Baby Jesus and fled into Egypt until he heard that wicked King Herod was dead.  This Baby was called Jesus, the son of Mary. All down through His life we hear that He went about doing good. He did many miracles and healed the sick, opened blind eyes, made the lame to walk and even raised the dead, but man was still lost in sin and God was not satisfied with just having their sin rolled away from year to year.  Now was the time to put his Plan 2 in action.  He would go to the cross and be crucified for us so that we would not be lost for all eternity!  He had this plan from the beginning a he knew how unstable man was and that they would need another plan.

Luke chapter 2 tells how Jesus was crucified and how He arose again on the third day. He died that by His stripes we can have healing for our bodies plus salvation for our souls. Thank You, Jesus!

His Plan of Salvation was told us by Peter after the ascension of Jesus Christ, in Acts chapter 2, verse 38.  Jesus had told Peter earlier  when he was converted to strengthen the brethern. On the Day of Pentecost after the Holy Spirit had been poured put upon the 120 souls,  Peter preached to them and they were so convicted they cried out to Peter “What must we do to  be saved?” Peter answered they must  “ Repent,(turn from their sin and confess to God that they were sinners. then they were to have their sins remitted by washing them away in water baptism in the name of Jesus and they would then receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in an unknown language with God giving the utterance.” The Bible tells us their were 3000 souls added to the church that day!

This Plan is still working today! Praise God!  You may ask “How do you know?”  I have received this very same experience and it is so beautiful!  I have also received healing for my body several times!   Yes His plan has not changed down through the years and His mighty working power is just the same today!

Yes, the Power of God is just the same today and it doesn’t matter what the people say.  Whatever God has promised He is able to perform and the Power of God is just the same Today!

Thank You Jesus for this wonderful Plan!

It is so good to know that God is still on the throne! He still answers the prayers of His people! I want to tell you a beautiful story  of  the compassion and longsuffering of our great God.  He is worthy of all the Praise!  I want to tell you the story of a little woman who turned 100 years old on October 7,2010.  Now I had never heard or even thought that Gladys was a bad person, she was a quiet, thoughtful person. Perhaps that is why she never felt her need for the Lord all down through life.

I believe Gladys was about 95 years old when she accepted Christ into her heart. I heard she had said she had never before felt the Spirit of God tugging at her heart. However on  a Sunday morning she asked Jesus into her heart and never looked back. On her anniversary July 11,1997  She was baptized in the precious name of Jesus  for the remission of her sins, along with her granddaughter Darlene Price and her great grandson Kyle  by Brother Daniel Swim in Ripples United Pentecostal Church. Just think at 97 years young  going down into the waters of  Baptism!  Thank you Jesus! But the story doesn’t end there!  We kept trying to visit her in the North Minto Nursing Home as much as possible and whenever Bro. Swim held a service in there Gladys attended. We started a  Bible Study with her but it didn’t last long as her eyesight completely failed her.  We kept visiting her and she now loved to talk about the Lord.

I think it was somewhere the first of June 2010 that she mentioned she had a 100th. coming up on October 7th.  She would like to have a Birthday Party!  Sis. Marsha Swim took care of this and on October 7th. She had a fabulous Birthday Party with over 100 people in attendance.  The last  time we visited her in the Home she asked “ Do you think I need the Holy Ghost to go up in the rapture of the church?  Not wanting to offend or discourage her I answered “Well Gladys, I am not the Judge, God is. but I do believe we do need the Holy Ghost to go in the rapture!”  She answered “Yes, I think so too!”  Thank You, Jesus!

Well, time went on and Gladys had a bad gall stone attack and they took her to Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton. I heard she came through the attack but next morning she had a bad spell and they called the family.  Once again she bounced back.  We continued to pray –”God, please don’t let her go out  into eternity without the Holy Ghost. She really needs it and she desires to have it!”  Our 79th Anniversary of the Church  was celebrated on November l2, 13 and 14th.  On the last night of these terrific services, God’s presence was so very real in each service, my Brother-in-law, Bro Russell Morehouse while having service in their church in Doaktown, felt a real burden for Gladys and had special prayer for her.   He prayed, “Lord, let her receive it even in her sleep!” Well. Guess what happened?  This is what she told us :”I thought I had a nightmare, it was so easy”  She awoke speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God giving her utterance, just like they did in Acts chapter 2.  She was once again worshipping Jesus and her bed was shaking along with Gladys by the Holy Spirit!

Gladys is still in hospital waiting for a room in a nursing home in Fredericton. She told her daughter, Dale, “Well, if I don’t get a room I am ready to go now!”  All alone in a lonely hospital room,King Jesus came by and filled her with His Holy Spirit  I also believe she had a visit  from an angel. She said a nurse came by and asked “are you O.K.?do you need a pill?” She replied “Oh no. I am fine!”  Later another  nurse came by and said I am your nurse, not giving her name, asked “what church do you attend She said “Pentecostal”  To which the nurse replied “I do too” and left the room. that was the first and last time she heard from her!  He is no respecter of persons.  Thank You again, JESUS!

I’ve  got a mansion just over the hilltop, in that fair land where I’ll never grow old. And some day yonder we will never more wander, but walk on streets that are purest gold!

Never grow old. Never grow old.  In that land  where we will never grow old!
