MERCY!

According to Random House Dictionary mercy means compassion shown to an offfender or enemy. In other words to show or have pity for the enemy or less fortunate. There are times I think back to when my children were younger and have regrets for the times I didn’t show enough mercy. At the same time I am very proud of them as they have never caused me any problems or embarassment. The Bible tells us if we spare the rod we spoil the child. I can say the childen and grandchildren have proven to be a real joy to us. The beatitudes say blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy. Many times we cry “Lord be merciful
to me when we really don’t deserve it. If we present ourselves to the Lord as the Pharisee did we can’t expect an answer from the Lord. But if we come as the Samaritan did then we will leave His presence with joy! Prov.16:6 By mercy and truth inquity is purged. Prov, 21;21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness and honour.
Mercy rewrote my life. Mercy rewrote my life. I should have fallen my soul cast down. But Mercy rewrote my life!

We are all a servant to something whether it be an idol, a god , Satan or the one true God!  We can make an idol of most anything. Some people worship the sun or moon, some cows or pigs. Others money and earthly treasures. When we were created God placed a void spot deep within our heart that can only be truly filled by His wonderful Presence!  Those who have  never heard of the one true God who can satisfy every longing of their soul try every other way they know of to try to fill this longing only to be so deeply disappointed!  The Bible tells us the Love of money is the root of all  evil but in His Presence there is fullness of joy!

1 Samuel chapter 5 tells us a story about the god of the Philistines whose name was Dagon.  When they took the Ark of God it was taken to Ashdod where they placed it in the temple of their god Dagon. In he morning when they went to the temple their god Dagon had fallen on his face before the Ark of God! They set him back on his feet and when they went back in the morning Dagon was once again lying before the Ark of the Lord with his head and both his palms cut off with only his stump left!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face.  The cares of this life will grow strangely dim, in the light of His Glory and Grace!

Have you ever desired a set of twins in your family? Perhaps you have said “if only I had a twin sister or brother In would be so happy!” Now there were twins on both sides of my family, My grandmother was a twin on my father’s side and I had an aunt and uncle who were twins on my mother’s side so I thought surely I would have a set of twins, but I didn’t I would have loved to have twins! My second and last son weighed in at 10 lb. 2ozs. and at one point I was told It could be twins as he was so large, but no,it didn’t happen so I am happy with my one girl and two boys, and no I can’t even imagine having two that size  Neither set of twins in our family were identical. Now they tell me that even identical twins are never truly identical as there is always at least one difference, such as maybe a dimple in a different spot or something that only the parents can tell the difference! There is just no two people exactly the same among the billions on this earth! No two sets of fingerprints are alike! Isn’t our God an awesome God? There is no one else like You, for You are God! You do miracles so great! There is no one else like You For You are great!

Refuge

Everyone likes to take refuge in something!Everyone needs to take refuge in something! In times of need it is always good to have a refuge, somewhere we can hide away in times of storms and feel safety. I remember as a child in thunder showers that would come up I would always feel safer if only I could snuggle with my Dad. After I married if it started to thunder I would snuggle up to my husband and feel safe. After my children came along if we could all snuggle up together for some odd reason I would feel much safer! I remember I was working at the John Thurston Clarke Memorial Building in Fredericton N.B. when they built an air raid shelter in the basement of the building and people thought they could find shelter in there should an air raid occur but it was not for the ordinary Joe. It was to be used only by the high up people such as the Mayor, councillors and those who ran the city, But even we who worked in the building would not have been allowed to enter.  It is so nice to be so fortunate as to live in this country where we feel safe and peaceful. There are so many countries today where people are terrorized and I simply could not live there! Canada is a refuge for so many people,  when this life is over I have a more sure refuge for my soul. Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice at Calvary so that we can mighty tower  find a refuge in you! God is our Refuge. He’s a strong and that we can run into. God is our Refuge and without Him what would I do?

Pay day

Today is the 28th day of September 2010.Myrtle Davidson (a lady in my hospital room) says it is our PAYDAY) I am once again in Oromocto Public Hospital with my foot. Pay Day in this life doesn’t come often enough. For some money doesn’t last very long as most people spend more than they make. Myrtle’s family is visiting her tonight, she had nine children, her son , two daughters and two granddaughters are visiting her right now. They are a lovely christian family. My other room mate is Phylis Harding from Chipman who says she knows my aunt Arthura MacBeth. Roy went home at 5 pm.He has been so good to me, I thank God for him.Nancy was with us this morning. What a great person she is! These ladies really work for their pay.I feel so blessed to have them working for us. When I was working I always looked forward to pay day. There never seemed to be enough money to go around and that is why I longed for pay day.  I just never dreamed that time would go by so swiftly and that I would someday be a senior on a pension plan. My friend Gladys Tapley will be 100 years old on October 7th 2010, and I don’t want to miss her birthday party! I guess I’ll have to miss it though as Dr,Fraser said I will be in hospital from 7-10 days.I hope she won’t be too disappointed. Being a senior to me seemed to be so far off but time has a way of slipping away and sneaking up on us and before we know it we are getting the old age pension!I am looking forward to getting in on that real pay day. It will be more than just getting a little pension and I sure don’t want to miss out on that day when God calls his children home! I want to be on God’s pay list and not on Satan’s list.  The Bible tells me the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our LORD! I am standing on the rock of Ages, I’m  safe from all the storms that rages.  I’m rich but not from satans wages.
